Weight loss this week = 2lb
That's 3lb lost in 2 weeks. Not bad considering I've sucummed to the wine on a couple of occasions. Now if only I could avoid it all together!! No wine in the house now so can avoid it quite well for the moment!! Pity the house is now full of Easter eggs, but am not a massive chocolate fan so that's no big problem.
Getting in to a regular exercise routine is still tricky while the boys are off school, but today I intend on fitting in my 30 rows. Something must be changing because hubby said my "over hang" has gone .... over hang?! Does him mean my flabby belly?!
Onwards - I have a goal to work towards as a couple of friends on Twitter are interested in doing the Ben Nevis with me next year - I said I wanted to do it before I was 50 and hope to push myself enough so I can do it.

Friday Failure!!
The combination of a Twitter session and a bottle of wine on a Friday evening = failed diet plan!! One should not combine the two - it leads to too much hassle which I always regret the next day! Never mind - one can't please everyone, I do try!! I get far too tetchy with people after a glass of wine or 3!
Back on the diet again today - have to remain focused and realise that when I slip off track I can get right back on the next day. Had my Weight Watchers meal for lunch and intend on doing a 30 minute session on the Wii Fit later.
Today I managed 50 rows!! Target to get to is 100 - maybe I'll get there if I persevere and kick the wine in to touch - wine, wine, wine - tis my EVIL!!
Must try and steer clear of the Easter eggs this weekend aswell - far too much temptation in a house with 2 children who need a high in calorie diet! I should have my own fridge!!
Weigh in is on Monday - working towards the 1lb weight loss but have to keep off the wine for the rest of the weekend!

Small Progress!
Had to give the exercise a little rest for a couple of days after pulling something in my left thigh doing the lunges! Very painful walking up and down stairs. Using muscles I've not used for years leads to a bit of discomfort! I managed 25 rows yesterday before having to give in due to my back telling me to stop! I do feel old! Everything hurts these days.
Today I managed 40 rows with no problem and could probably squeeze another 40 in later. I've been on the Wii Fit today and done my usual 30 minutes. Each time I'm gaining more points for each of the Aerobic's one's I like to do. I tried the Long Run instead of the Short Run - which was only an extra minutes running, but did it okay. I aim to try the Island Lap again tomorrow to see if I can get any further than the first time I tried!
My BMI has gone down slighly, but have lost no more weight. I like to do the Body Test every couple of days to see how things are progressing. My BMI should be 22, but it's 27. something at the moment. Still a way to go, but it's a good start!
No wine in the house tonight so I'm drinking water - I need to try and substitute my wine with something else less fattening .... !!
Finding it hard to get in to a routine while the boys are on Easter holiday, but will try and squeeze in a half hour exercise session each day if I can.

Exercise Session!
Yesterday afternoon I forced myself to switch the Wii Fit on and do a full 30 minutes of exercise. Joe decided to join in with the duel running, but ended up running out of breath and cheating by just waving the Wii remote control up and down to make his Mii run faster!! I wish that was all I had to do! I managed the 3 minute running okay and then decided to have a go at the Island Lap - gave up quarter of the way through - far too long a run for me at the moment. I'll have another go and each time try and get that bit further.
Had a go on the Kinnect exercise game aswell - took me about 30 minutes to set up a profile and then take the test exercises. I had a go at one session after picking a male Personal Trainer (he wasn't exactly handsome!!). I gave up after 10 minutes of lunges - my legs are not used to using muscles which have lain dormant for years!!
Then I did 30 rows and collapsed in a heap!!
I managed to steer clear of the wine last night by making a cup of coffee instead. Trying to keep my wine intake to weekends only - then I can cram a weeks worth in in one night (joke!).
More exercise on the agenda for today - maybe Joe will join in again - see how much exercise he can subject the Wii remote to!!

First Weigh In!
Monday is weigh in day (although that has not stopped me checking mid week, which one should not do as it becomes rather disheartening!).
First week weight loss = 1lb
It's a start!! Not managed much exercise over the weekend - I get easily distracted when the boys are at home basically feeding them and running around after them all weekend tidying up as they drop things! Not sure how I can continue on my little routine I set up while they are on Easter holidays for 2 weeks, but I'll try and squeeze my Wii Fit session in at least 2 - 3 times a week. Need to drag out the bikes to get them both out in the fresh air.
In lieu of my 1lb loss I will add £10 to the Justgiving page to the CF Trust - as promised.
Hoping for a 2lb loss next week - need to drop the wine next .... slowly! Not sure what I can do about the pile of Easter eggs looking at me which I know the boys won't eat - I may have to give them away before I decide I need to eat them!!

The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing BUT the Truth!
Okay, here is the whole truth!!
I measured my various "bits" (!) on Monday at the start of my challenge and weighed myself - all was rather deperessing, but not a surprise to me!!
Chest: 42" (not boobs - just fat back!!)
Belly (!) : 38"
Waist: 43"
Thigh: 23"
Arm: 12"
Weight: 11stone 7lb!!!!!
When I got married nearly 19 years ago I weighed 8 stone 10lb!! Two children later and an awful lot of stress and lack of exercise and far too much wine and chocolate have taken their toll!!
This week I've started building up very slowly to starting a regular exercise routine.
On Monday when I shuffled the rowing machine out of the shed and dusted it down I could only manage 10 rows without collapsing in a heap! Wednesday I managed 20 rows and today I am up to 30 rows. My aim is to get to 100.
I started back on the Wii Fit - it told me off for not using it for nearly a year!!! I am in the category of "Overweight" - which is a lot better than being in the "Obese" bit!! I've set myself a target of loosing 2lb every 2 weeks at the moment - a pound a week - eventually I'd like to do 2lb a week.
On Monday I could do 20 minutes on the Wii Fit and that was enough for me! Today I managed 31 minutes and was sweating for England!! I hope to up my running on there steadily - at the moment I'm only just doing the 3 minutes without huffing and puffing and having to keep my chest in check with my arm to stop them knocking me out bouncing around! I need to invest in a good sturdy Sports Bra!!
It's a start - it's far more than I was doing a week ago - steady as she goes!!
Once I feel a tad better about myself I'll get my bike out and go public - at the moment am happy doing a bit of exercise in the comfort of my living room with the curtains closed so that no-one on the bus can see me as it turns around over the road!!
Weigh in is Monday - hoping for a 2lb loss in the first week - I've sweated enough to deserve it!
Next I need to cut back on my chocolate and win intake - trying to limit the wine to the weekends only - we'll see!!
For every pound I loose I will be donating £10 to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - they may get a heap of money out of me - or they may get a tenner - only I can make sure they get plenty!!

A New Challenge!
A new Blog!!
I so need to loose some unwanted weight - about 3 stone of it! The only way I can think of forcing myself to get started on a healthy eating diet and exercise regime is to publicly shame myself in to persevering. I am a prolific Tweeter so am hoping with the support of some friends who can Mentor me I can get under way with this Challenge. Maybe a weekly Blog update will help and a daily Tweet update.
So far most of my fundraising ventures have been done sitting on my backside at a laptop - hence the weight gain - the flab has spread courtesy of the glass or 3 of wine which goes with my evening's Tweeting sessions - which have not been as regular as they used to, but the flab has still turned in to a few spare tyres which make me feel uncomfortable, out of breath and very unfit.
You know you are unfit when an 8 year old with a 75% lung function can run faster than you and there is absolutely NO WAY you can catch up without fear of keeling over and having a heart attack! Along with the visual embarrassment of various flabby bits bouncing around!
After watching the great John Bishop's Sport Relief Challenge on Friday evening, where I had to pause several times in watch it to blow my nose due to the emotional nature of it all, I was so inspired to get off my own idle ass and do something to change my life. Whether it works is another matter - I have zero willpower.
I am fed up of going shopping and coming home with no new clothes because I just don't think anything will suit me - nothing will cover my flab! I buy big baggy t-shirts and own one pair of size 16 jeans. I bought a size 14 pair last week and could not get my ass in to them! I am determined that I will get in to them so I didn't take them back!
I had to have my eternity and engagement rings cut off my finger when I was pregnant with Joe due to swelling and water retention and have only just had them re-sized this year so I could wear them again. I now find that my wedding ring is so tight on my finger it's starting to hurt - there is NO WAY I want that cutting off my finger spoiling it's shape - so I must loose some flab so it fits nicely.
This is the start of my journey to get fitter and loose the weight.
John Bishop is the same age as me and look what he did for Charity - I can't do his Challenge, but I can do SOMETHING! My aim is to get to the top of Ben Nevis - I've wanted to do that for a few years now but have never been fit enough - I have dodgy hips and knee's! Maybe with regular exercise and loosing the excess weight sitting on these area's it will make things easier for me to achieve my challenge. Not on the agenda for this year ..... September 2013 is my target!
My next Blog will have THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH - i.e. weight, vital statistics and my goals!
I hope my friends will encourage me and help me on this journey - I need the support for it to work - I can't do it on my own.
